"I believe that music enriches the lives of everyone! "
On Monday 2nd July ten Jazz Improvisation students will for the first time play with a live rhythm section for their end of year performance. The students, who have been attending weekly Jazz Improvisation classes run by Music Cornwall teacher Andy Bilham, will perform at the weekly jazz night at the Star and Garter pub in Union Street Falmouth, starting at 9.00pm and finishing at 11.00pm. The three piece rhythm section will include Claudia Lang-Colmer (another Music Cornwall teacher) on bass, and Max Turnbull, an ex-CYJO pianist, on keys.
The house rhythm section will perform by themselves, and after a short break the keen young students will join them to perform some jazz standards they have been working on this year.
So if you would like to hear some Instantaneous Creation, Spontaneous Composition, or just some talented young musicians making up some melodic tunes as they go along, accompanied by one of the finest rhythm sections around, pop along at 9pm next Monday. Oh, and it'll only cost you the price of whatever your tipple is to listen - free entry!
