3 National Youth Jazz Collective Tutors to Help Students Improve Improvisation and Jazz Skills

National Youth Jazz Collective

Last weekend 20 young jazz students from all over Cornwall came together at Helston Community College to work with 3 National Youth Jazz Collective tutors to improve their improvisation and jazz skills.  The students, from as far afield as Cape Cornwall and Wadebridge, worked as a large group and in smaller ensembles with Andrew Bain (drums), Mark Hodgson (double bass) and Simon Colam (piano).

Fanfare competition open to Music Cornwall students

The Royal Opera House Fanfare Competition is open to all 11 – 16 year olds. The project aims to encourage creative music-making both in and out of school and to provide a platform for young people’s music.

Gifted & Talented Students

For gifted and talented pupils we aim to provide a stimulating environment which enable students to fulfil their potential. One of the main duties of music teachers is to identify the potential of our pupils to parents, carers, schools and colleges.

Music Cornwall offers talented pupils the opportunity of individual lessons on their main instrument through the Annual Awards scheme.
